Sometimes we wonder what being part of a scene is all about, all winter we sit an wish for the summer to hurry up so we can jump in our cars an feel the buzz of being at a show again, to see friends and talk about what we love our cars what we have been upto upgrading our cars on the dark cold nights, we don’t care what the weather is when we get to a show, yes its nice but really we don’t care, the HotRods & Hills is one of the best chill out events you can get and the bonus is its on a campsite Parkfoot Holiday Park in Ullswater, Lake District, kitted out with its own bar & restaurant with a takeaway camp site shop and ample of everything you could need while your away, the main focus of the HotRods & Hills is not about polishing your car, its about how many miles you can put on it on the 3 monster cruises and if you are worthy of the mighty Kirkstone pass as many have tried and succeeded that includes, 2 road legal 7 second quarter mile drag cars and many 9 second road legal drag cars, think you can handle it? Come along in 2020 to find out this event has a vast array of types of cars from 1920’s rat rods to the modern classics and the sheer amount that turn up to this event is amazing, with 94 cars on the Friday cruise out says it all! All be what the weather can throw at us it was like it was the sun was shining and everyone cracked on and had a blast regardless because whatever the will be the weather will be so a mutual set of people stuck their fingers up at the clouds said a few unprompted words and got on with it as always you cant dampen the rodders spirit, well you can with another type of spirit but that’s a different story. The HotRod & Hills is the best event of the year with bands on the Friday & Saturday night organised cruises out Friday, Saturday & and if you didn’t put enough miles on your car the Sunday as well what car show can say they do that in 1 weekend, forget polishing your car and just get in it and drive it I mean that’s why you got it isn’t it. A huge thanks go out to Craig Dixon and everyone that has helped sort this event out as someone that knows setting up an event like this takes amazing effort and time I would say if you haven’t been to this yet its a fantastic event with like minded friends so get yourself along to it as once you have been, it will always be on the calendar every year after.
